Many of Bristol’s hotels and apartments have views of the river and beyond, but if you’re after something a little closer to the water’s edge, here’s our selection of Bristol Harbourside hotels with impressive waterfront views.

The Bristol

Located on the quay next to Pero’s Bridge, The Bristol’s lively waterfront location means you’re right in the heart of the city, with some of the best culture, nightlife and attractions Bristol has to offer on your doorstep. The hotel itself has a boutique-y feel and offers some fantastic packages for an indulgent weekend away or great way to start work in the morning. Make sure you take advantage of eating at the hotel - its restaurant, The River Grille overlooks the harbour – a fascinating people watching spot by day and aglow with twinkly lights by night.

Mercure Brigstow Hotel

Brigstow, meaning ‘place of the bridge’ is the old name for Bristol and this hotel is perfectly named for its spot right next to the grade II listed Bristol Bridge.  The hotel is in one of the oldest parts of the city close to many of Bristol’s historic landmarks and the glorious, quirky St Nicholas Market. With a ferry stop right outside the hotel, it makes a perfect base for exploring the city by water.

Kyle Blue Bristol

For those who want to stay on the water rather than next to it, The Kyle Blue is a luxury tourist hostel boat offering sleeping accommodation for 30 in dormitory and private cabins.  Stroll along the quayside to M Shed museum and Brunel’s SS Great Britain, marvel at stand up paddle boarders and early morning rowers or just take in the views while you mull over the huge choice of places to eat and drink at nearby Wapping Wharf. A very Bristol way to enjoy a stay in the city.

With 133 beds in a mixture of shared and private rooms, this Youth Hostel offers prime Harbourside views and a central location at prices that won’t break the bank. It’s worth visiting just to check out their amazing Bristol mural.

SACO Bristol - Broad Quay

Housed in a much more contemporary space than its sister property at West India House, SACO Broad Quay sits next to the Radisson Blu hotel overlooking the harbour, Bristol Hippodrome and hills beyond.  These serviced apartments are very popular due to the range of rooms available from studio apartments for two, right up to a three bedroom penthouse. You’re also in a brilliant spot for discovering the city. Hop across the road to see a show, venture up Park Street – beautiful Clifton Village waits at the top - or wander round the water’s edge for even more bars, restaurants and attractions.

Radisson Blu

As one of Bristol’s tallest buildings, the Radisson Blu offers stunning views across the city to rolling hills in the distance – especially if you are lucky enough to have a room on the 17th floor!  It’s just a few steps from the cascade steps ferry stop so if you’re arriving by train, why not ditch the walk and take the ferry from Temple Meads instead?
