The Festival of Light at Longleat (5 Nov – 3 Jan)

Longleat’s hugely popular Festival of Light will be brightening up dark wintry days with thousands of giant Chinese lanterns at the Wiltshire estate. Wander through the magical glowing winter wonderland, where mermaids swim in the lake, princesses live in castles, firebirds fly and dragons roar. There’s also Santa Trains to transport visitors to Father Christmas’ wintry woodland home, where elves will welcome you into his grotto. Visitors can also experience a winter safari and the illuminated hedge maze. Inside, Longleat House will be decorated for an authentic Edwardian Christmas complete with live characters. Tickets from £17.45.

Winter Wonderland at Wookey Hole (18 Nov – 7 Jan)

Santa takes pride of place in his festive Grotto and his reindeer are on-hand too, resting and feeding before the big night. Check out the stunning Illuminated Caves plus lots more yuletide fun! £15.00 per person.

Winter Wonderland at The Mall, Cribbs Causeway (16 Nov – 7 Jan)

This fantastic festive experience encompasses the South West’s largest outdoor ice rink (over 1,000 sq. metres), Santa’s Enchanted Ice Castle, a magical Christmas train ride inside The Mall and a selection of yuletide foodie treats to enjoy.

Journey to the North Pole at Avon Valley Adventure & Wildlife Park (25 Nov -24 Dec)

Adventure to the North Pole with Evergreen the elf. This 90-minute immersive experience will take the family on a magical journey to meet Father Christmas as well as some special characters along the way, including Patch the elf and Mrs Claus. Tickets (from £20) also include Glice Skating, Elf craft fun, fair rides, festive tractor ride, hot chocolate, real reindeer encounter, Polar Express mini railway ride, bag of animal food to feed the park animals and snowman trail.

Santa Specials at the Avon Valley Railway (26 Nov-24 Dec)

Take a ride in a vintage carriage on a steam-hauled train and enjoy a special visit from Father Christmas. Nibble mince pies from Santa’s helpers as you pass through beautiful Avon Valley countryside during the hour-long trip. Prices vary depending on date chosen.

Santa's Grotto at Old Down Country Park (26 Nov -23 Dec)

Walk through the enchanted fairy-lit forest with Santa's Elves and visit Santa as he relaxes next to the log fire in the magical yurt. Tickets are £12.50 per child. (£10 members).

Santa visits The Galleries in Broadmead (2 Dec - 24 Dec)

Look out for Santa on weekends from 2 December and every day from 16th December until Christmas Eve. He'll be roaming about all three floors, but there's also a giant throne on the ground floor where he will be posing for photos throughout the day.

Spot your favourite creatures at Bristol Zoo Gardens while enjoying the festive lights, then let elves guide you through Santa’s magical grotto to meet the man himself. Prices from £5.

Santa's Yurt at Wild Place Project (2 - 23 December)

Get outdoors, explore the chilly woods and spot exotic animals before making your acquaintance with Santa in his festive yurt at Wild Place Project. Snap a selfie with a reindeer and tuck into seasonal treats in the Courtyard Café while you’re there! Get onto the ‘good’ list and book your ticket to secure a visit, prices from £6.

Sail with Santa at Bristol Ferry Boats  (selected dates from 9 Dec)

Search for Father Christmas with the Ferry Elves on their cosy boat (complete with Christmas tree!) Once found, Bristol Ferry's delightful Father Christmas will sing and entertain, dole out individual gifts for the kiddywinks and festive treats for the adults while you cruise around the harbour. Book your seats online, £12.50 per head.

Meet Santa at American Museum in Britain (9-10 Dec & 16-17 Dec)

Meet Santa in his grotto and tell him and the elves your Christmas wishes.

Santas on the Run - Lloyds Amphitheatre (10 Dec)

Not a meet and greet as such, but you will see thousands of Santas take to the streets across the South West in this 2k festive fun run for Children’s Hospice South West. Adults, children and even family pets are all invited to take part! Tickets start from £7.50 and include a Santa suit, medal and festive treats.

Christmas Spiegeltent: Father Christmas's Woodland Grotto (selected dates – 2-23 Dec)

Father Christmas's Woodland grotto at the Christmas Spiegeltent is a magical place full of curiosities where families can dive into an interactive theatrical experience. Cheeky elves help visitors on their enchanting journey through magical woods to meet the man in red. Grown-ups get a free hot toddy! Tickets from £5.

Santa’s grotto at the Grand Pier (selected dates from 2-24 Dec)

Follow the snowy footprints to the winter wonderland, with moving penguins and polar bears. Santa's reindeer and elves will be on hand to make sure you don't get lost. Admission is £5.

Sea Santa Grotto at Clevedon Pier (16-24 Dec)

The spectacular Porthole Room will play venue to Sea Santa and his sparkling sunken ship grotto - made completely from recycled resources! Tickets available at the Toll House, £8 per child.

Tiny Tea Parties Presents: Supper with Santa on the Grand Pier (17 Dec)

Little ones can enjoy a meal with Santa and his elves as he takes a break from his busy schedule. There’s also a disco and party games and tickets (£15) include one hour in Adventure Cove (soft play).

Christmas at the Arcade (18-23 Dec)

One of Bristol's most historic shopping venues is home to around 20 mainly independent shops and cafés. Pop down for Christmas activities including free craft making workshops, a stable and a chance to meet Santa.

Santa's Christmas Wish at Redgrave Theatre (21 December)

Join a fun, festive, interactive musical adventure to give Santa the very best Christmas, then meet the guy himself at his home in the North Pole! Tickets £10.50.
