Bristol is one of the leading UK cities when it comes to being ‘green’ and sustainable. Bristol was the first UK city to win the European Green Capital award in 2015, due to the successes in a variety of areas such as energy, waste, food and travel. The city has many unique venues and hotels that have a strong focus on being green and working with event planners to organise sustainable events.

Folly Farm Centre

Owned by the Avon Wildlife Trust, Folly Farm Centre is surrounded by 250 acres of nature and is located just 10 miles from Bristol and Bath, offering delegates both city sightseeing as well as a getaway with nature.

Folly Farm Centre’s beautiful grounds are a brilliant location for team building, they offer tailor-made wildlife workshops, unusual activities such as sheep herding or simply a fresh rustic room for a conference. There is also onsite accommodation and ample space for parking.

The venue is housed in a set of carefully restored farm buildings with eco features, including biomass heating and solar energy. Wastewater is broken down naturally by a reed bed sewage system and rainwater is harvested from the rooftops. All paper on site is recycled, including conference pads and the pens you can buy use vegetable inks.

All profit goes directly to the Avon Wildlife Trust to protect local wildlife and educate people about the benefits of nature.
