The Cool List 2018

Just in case you needed some proof, Bristol was included on The National Geographic Traveller Cool List 2018 alongside 17 other super trendy destinations. We got extra cool points for our music, unconventional creativity and flourishing food scene. Bristol is being pitted as the best place to eat outside London, with seven new entries in the 2018 Good Food Guide. 

52 Places to Go in 2018

Bristol made it on to this mega list from the New York Times alonside destinations such as tropical paradise Fiji, the romantic Spanish city of Seville and China’s rainbow-striped mountains. As the only English city to make the list, we’re pretty pleased that our friends across the pond love Bristol (almost) as much as we do. 

The Best Places to Travel in 2018

The Irish Times also added Bristol onto their list of the best places to travel in 2018 with a special shout out to our favourite characters, Wallace and Gromit.

The Telegraph's Big Restaurant Review of 2017

Bristol restaurants also got recognised in The Telegraph's Big Restaurant Review of 2017. Cargo, the new independent restaurant & retail development on the Harbourside housed in shipping containers, was mentioned by Xanthe Clay. The editor of Telegraph Food named the ice cream selection at Bristol Lido as her most memorable dish of the year. 

Girl vs Globe Reveals Her Favourite Bristol Hangouts

Bristol got another mention from The Telegraph recently as top UK travel vlogger, Girl vs Globe, came to visit and made a beautifully colourful video with some of her favourite hangout spots in the city including vegan junk food restaurant VX, Stokes Croft’s incredible outdoor artwork and interactive museum, M Shed

It’s safe to say that The Telegraph have been loving Bristol over the past few months as they also posted an article on why Bristol and Bath are the perfect pair of cities.

Bristol came in at number 9 on the Luxe Adventure Traveler’s 18 Places to Travel in 2018 for its excessive use of the letter B. Think boats, bridges, balloons, bikes, beer, burgers and Banksy. What a great place to B! 

The Mild Mild West And The Best Italian Outside Of Italy

Hand Luggage Only took a trip up Stokes Croft to see Banksy’s Mild Mild West piece and stopped in at quirky hostel-cum-pub The Full Moon before taking a trip to Aquila for some beautiful Italian food – seriously, check out his pictures!

New York native Alex stayed in one of the stylish self-catered apartments at Paintworks Lofts and got to explore the city with a local tour guide friend like a real Bristolian. If you’d like a Street Art tour like Alex, Where the Wall run them on Saturdays and Sundays at 11:00 from College Green. 

Up, Up And Away With Bristol Balloons

Bristol is the home of the hot air balloon and although we have seven more months to wait until the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta, you can still get your floating fix with a flight of your own into the sky. Roy Adams from My I On The World talks us through his trip over Bristol by balloon, and he’s included some beautiful pictures that will have you itching to book a flight yourself!
