Thousands will descend on Weston-super-Mare this weekend, 22nd-23rd June to attend the packed weekend of air displays, activities and armed forces action. Join the fun on the sands of Weston for two days of daring air displays over the water and entertainment on the seafront. Here are our top 7 things not to miss at the Weston Air Festival:

Weston Air Festival 2018

The Red Arrows

The RAF Red Arrows are the world’s leading aerial display team, and their stunning routines over Weston-super-Mare are always a hugely popular part of the Air Festival. This year they’ll be thrilling the crowds on Saturday between 4-5pm and on Sunday between 2pm-3pm.

The Typhoon

A similar display of amazing agility and power will be on show when the RAF Typhoon flies over Weston Beach, a sight the crowds will be able to enjoy on Saturday between 1-2pm and between 4-5pm on Sunday.

Loop-The-Looping helicopters

Have you ever seen a helicopter perform loops and even turn upside down? That’s exactly what happens when the Red Bull BO-105 performs its unique routine, something the Weston Air Festival crowds can enjoy between 2-3pm on Saturday and 1-2pm on Sunday. Audiences can also expect to be amazed when the Gazelle Team fly their helicopters at 2-3pm on Saturday and 4-5pm Sunday.

Traditional fairground rides

For little ones and adults alike, there will be a variety of traditional fairground rides for those looking for some adrenaline themselves!

Armed Forces parade

Opening the Armed Forces events will be a grand opening parade, led by the world-famous Band of Her Majesty’s Royal Marines. The Armed Forces Display Teams, Cadet Forces, Military and civilian bands, choirs and service charities will all take part in the weekend’s events. As well as displays by various groups including field gun races, there will be regular military music and on Sunday a Drumhead Service at 3.30pm.

Death defying Wing Walkers

It won’t just be the planes that are the stars of the show, the amazing bravery of the AeroSuperBatics Wing Walkers, who perform jaw-dropping routines while strapped to the wings of Boeing Stearman biplanes, will be demonstrated at 4-5pm on Saturday and 3-4pm Sunday.

The Battle of Britain memorial Flights

With 2018 marking the Centenary celebrations of the RAF, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will provide a fitting tribute to British air power, flying over Weston Beach on Saturday and Sunday. The RAF Typhoon, Team Raven, Strikemaster, Pitts Special, AeroSuperBatics Wingwalkers, Red Bull BO-105 and Autogyro will also perform for expected crowds of 100,000 people each day.
