Taking place in Bristol for the first time this October (20-21), Wild & Well is a brand new wellbeing festival based around four themes – Move, Connect, Eat and Explore. Wild & Well’s Move and Connect events will take place in venues around Bristol’s Harbourside, including M Shed, We The Curious and Brunel’s SS Great Britain, with a shuttle bus linking the festival to Ashton Court for its Eat and Explore programme. We asked festival organiser Aisling Mustan to share her favourite festival highlights.

Outdoor adventures

The Wild & Well programme is jam-packed with classes and events to help you get outdoors and active. Choose from Silent Disco Woodland Workouts, SUP Paddle Boarding on the river, mountain biking around Ashton Court Estate, a Wild Animal Bootcamp or tackling the MoveGB Climbing Wall overlooking Bristol’s Harbourside. The classes are designed to suit all levels of fitness – from complete novices to fitness geeks – and are guaranteed to make you feel good!

Balance your Chi

It wouldn’t be a wellbeing festival without a bit of Chi-balancing, but like so much of the Wild & Well programme, ‘It’s wellbeing Jim, but not as we know it’! The festival’s Vogue-Chi workshop incorporates the principles of both Tai-Chi and Vogue/Ballroom ‘encouraging participants to fully find new versions of themselves while exploring gender, unconventional beauty and shameless self-indulgence in a loving and safe environment’. Or if you prefer a gentler pace, the Tai Chi Tea Party might be more your style, combining the ancient art of Tai Chi with a traditional Chinese tea ceremony.

With a focus on seasonal ingredients, rustic techniques and cooking over fire, visitors to The Wild Kitchen and The Hearth (the festival’s fire cooking area) will find demos and workshops including Sourdough Making, Curing & Smoking, Root to Fruit Eating, Dumpling Making, Nourishing Cakes, Pickling, Raw Deserts and much more.
