September 30 is Hot Mulled Cider day! And being a city of cider, we’re not one to pass up an opportunity to rave about the West Country’s beloved apple drink. It seemed fitting therefore, to ask Pete Snowman, owner of Bristol Cider Shop in Wapping Wharf – and best cider retailer in the UK - for his favourite places to eat and drink in the city for this week’s Food Friday…

Box-E, Cargo

One of the best (and definitely smallest!) restaurants in Bristol. We held a cider dinner with them earlier this year and I was blown away by the food pairings. Really top class. Get a seat at the chef’s table if you can.

Eat Your Greens, Wells Rd

After the disappointment of The Eating Room closing down, the good people of Totterdown were blessed when EYG took its place. A veggie delight - or is it vegan? As a meat eater I can never remember because the food is so good.

The Malago, North Street

My favourite place to eat on North St. Really nice vibe and consistently good food. I love their breakfasts and tried their roast recently and couldn’t fault it. Nice pictures on the wall too.

Mokoko, Wapping Wharf

Working in Wapping Wharf, we’re surrounded by amazing food and drink every day, but my favourite lunch is the salad bar at Mokoko. Really lush, fresh salads and amazing quiche.

Thai Garden, West Street

Great little Thai restaurant in Bedminster with super-friendly staff and great food. It’s BYO so it’s very reasonable and you can pick up some booze in Bristol Cider Shop on the way!
