Bookings are booming in the South West England events market – and with good reason. Now the region’s industry is turning the spotlight on itself through a new trade show dedicated to the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) market: MEET South West, to be held on Wednesday 30 January 2019.

Our region ticks every box on the list of today’s event planners: genuinely characterful but always immaculately professional venues; prices a fraction of what they are in London; and superb rail, road and air links (Bristol Airport serves 100 destinations). Even the new trend for event “festivalisation” taps into our reputation for world-class festivals! With a wealth of creativity and an event ecosystem capable of supporting the most complex projects, the South West’s events sector is proving an increasing draw for progressive event planners regionally, nationally and internationally.

Events, hospitality and business tourism is now worth an estimated £400 million across the South West. The past 12 months have seen the United Nations Foundation, UK Space Agency, Department for International Trade, TSB, Castrol, the RAC and the Prince’s Trust among many others host their events here or draw support from local agencies and the wider South West event ecosystem.

MEET South West will bring the region’s events industry together under one roof for the first time, providing a unique opportunity to connect with the best venues and suppliers. From little-known boutique venues to agencies and suppliers capable of delivering the largest corporate events, MEET South West will showcase the quality and diversity of our event industry.

Running alongside the exhibition, a conference programme will provide practical advice on how to deliver exceptional events and maximise return on investment, while the region’s Destination Management Organisations will host fam trips for organisers, including from London, with visits to Bath and Bristol.

“We are creating a show that we’d want to attend ourselves” says Bristol-based MEET South West Co-Founder Thomas Heiser. “MEET South West will leave event organisers with a wealth of new ideas and contacts to deliver outstanding events at a competitive price. The South West is a genuinely unique and exciting place. Come and find out what makes it so special.”
