The Father Christmas Experience at Ashton Court Mansion (6-23 December)

Father Christmas will be bringing his magic to Ashton Court's Victorian manor house every weekend and selected weekdays from 6 - 23 December. To add to the festive jollities there'll be Christmas activities and trails around Ashton Court available before and after a 20-minute interactive experience with Santa, a Christmas gift for your kiddo, plus a drink and mince pie for the grown-ups.

Mr Claus at Quakers Friars (24 Nov - 24 Dec, see varied dates) 

Meet Santa and his chief Elf when they fly into the Quakers Friars, Cabot Circus on weekends throughout November, then daily from the 1-23 December.

Santa at The Galleries (24 November - 24 December, see selected dates)

Nearby, in The Galleries, animatronic reindeer Rudolph and Blitzen will be serenading shoppers with Christmas tunes and reindeer facts and kids can write to Santa and post it in the Christmas post boxes for jolly old Mr Claus to read when he visits Broadmead on Saturdays and Sundays from 24 November until 16 December and every day from Thursday 20 December until Christmas Eve.

Santa's Grotto at Bristol Zoo Gardens (1 - 23 December) 

Spot your favourite creatures at Bristol Zoo Gardens before delving into Santa’s magical Narnia-inspired grotto. A team of pixies and elves will meet you at Christmas Corner to dazzle little ones with fun arts and crafts until it’s time to venture through the wooden wardrobe into Santa's Sitting Room for a Christmas gift.

Sail with Santa at Bristol Ferry Boats  (selected dates from 9 – 24 December) 

Search for Father Christmas with the Ferry Elves on their cosy boat (complete with Christmas tree!) Once found, Bristol Ferry Boats’ charming Father Christmas will sing and entertain, dole out individual gifts for the kiddywinks, plus mince pies and sherry for the adults while you cruise around the harbour.  

Santa's Christmas Party at Redgrave Theatre (22 December) 

Join a fun, festive, interactive musical adventure to give Santa the very best Christmas, then meet the guy himself at his home in the North Pole! There'll be party games, songs and a chance to meet Father Christmas (and get a present!) Suitable for 2-7 year olds.

Santa's grotto - Winter Wonderland at The Mall, Cribbs Causeway (17 November – 6 January) 

Santa’s all-new grotto experience at The Mall will thrill kiddos with a magical 3D adventure through an Enchanted Ice Castle. Put on your 3D specs and let the Ice Guard, Elf, and Wish Fairy take you on a journey to the North Pole! The Mall’s Winter Wonderland is also home to the South West’s largest outdoor ice rink (over 1,000 sq. metres), a magical Christmas train ride, festive foodie stalls and vintage fairground rides for a marvellously merry day out.

Santas on the Run - Lloyds Amphitheatre (9 December) 

Not a meet and greet as such, but you will see thousands of Santas take to the streets around Bristol Harbourside in this 2k festive fun run for Children’s Hospice South West. Pop down for pre-race festivities including face painters, DJs and refreshments to get you in the yuletide mood. Adults, children and family pets are all invited to take part!  

Santa’s grotto at the Grand Pier (selected dates from 1-24 December) 

Travel to the coastal town of Weston-Super-Mare and the famous Grand Pier, which offers family fun for all ages including a 300-metre indoor go-kart track, F1 simulators, arcades and rides. Here you can follow the enchanted path with its moving penguins and polar bears to Santa’s winter wonderland grotto for a Christmas gift. Santa's reindeer and elves will be on hand to make sure you don't get lost!  

Supper with Santa on the Grand Pier (16 December) 

Little ones can enjoy a meal with Santa and his elves on the Grand Pier as he takes a break from his busy schedule. There’s also a disco and party games and tickets include one hour in Adventure Cove soft play.

Sea Santa Grotto at Clevedon Pier (15-24 December) 

Clevedon is a charming Victorian seaside town with a restored Grade I* listed Victorian pier (you may recognise it as the backdrop in One Direction’s You and I video or from the film, Never Let Me Go). This year, the Pier's spectacular Porthole Room is once again the special venue for Sea Santa and his sparkling sunken ship grotto - made completely from recycled resources! The Santa experience happens in small groups and includes a small gift, plus entry to the Pier.

Tea party with Father Christmas at Avon Valley Adventure & Wildlife Park (24 November - 24 December) 

Join Father Christmas and his elves for some festive fun at the Christmas Tea Party! Excited tums can fill up on platters of sandwiches, cakes, squash presented by the energetic elves before the big man arrives to tell the children a story.  There’s also gingerbread decorating, a Father Christmas photo opportunity, festive tractor ride, Polar Express miniature railway ride and lots more! 

Journey to the North Pole at Avon Valley Adventure & Wildlife Park (24 November - 24 December)

Adventure to the North Pole with Evergreen the elf on a mission to save Christmas. This 90-minute immersive experience will take the family on a magical journey to meet Father Christmas and some special characters along the way, including Patch the elf and Mrs Claus. Tickets also include A Tour of Patch's Toy Factory, real reindeer to feed and wish well on their journey, access to the Yuletide Square and Enchanted Village plus lots more!

Santa Specials at the Avon Valley Railway (24 & 25 November, 3, 8, 9, 15, 16, 21 & 23 December) 

Take a ride in a vintage carriage on a steam-hauled train and enjoy a special visit from Father Christmas. Nibble mince pies or festive biscuits from Santa’s helpers as you pass through beautiful Avon Valley countryside during the hour-long trip. Prices vary depending on date chosen. 

Santa's Grotto at Old Down Country Park (25 November -24 December) 

Get creative with festive crafts at the Elf Station before following the Christmas Elves through the secret path to visit Santa in the magical woodland yurt. Kids can warm up with an elf-sized hot chocolate while grownups can go giddy for mulled wine. Don’t forget to say hello to Clyde the pony as you leave the Grotto - he auditioned for a role as Santa’s Reindeer and got the part!  

Santa at Slimbridge (8-9, 15-16, 21-23 December)

Aside from Santa and his reindeer, what else flys through the air around Christmastime? Beautiful birdlife from the UK! Celebrate the wonder of winter birds at Slimbridge, one of the UK’s best nature reserves, before joining Santa and his elves for breakfast or afternoon  in amagical grotto. Throughout the day there'll be lots of other fun Christmas activities too. Ice your own gingerbread man, build an elf den, toast marshmallows, get creative making arts and crafts and send a letter to the North Pole at our post office!

All aboard the Santa Train at Longleat's Festival of Light (10 Nov – 28 December) 

Hop aboard the Santa Train to visit Father Christmas in his grotto at Longleat’s hugely popular Festival of Light. Journey past the beautiful Half-Mile Lake before disembarking at North Pole Halt – a magical snow-covered winter wonderland – to meet Santa and his elves. Afterwards, go on a glowing adventure through thousands of Chinese lanterns, experience a winter safari and the illuminated hedge maze as well as an authentic Edwardian-style Christmas inside Longleat House.  

Winter Wonderland at Wookey Hole (17 November – 6 January) 

Santa takes pride of place in his festive Grotto and his reindeer are on-hand too, resting and feeding before the big night. Check out the stunning Illuminated Caves, Christmas Circus Show, Happy Feet at the 4D cinema (with moving seats, wind effects and sprinklers!) plus lots more yuletide fun!  

Meet Santa at American Museum in Britain (8 & 9, 15 & 16 December)

Ho, ho, Ho! Santa’s taken time out of his busy schedule to stop off at the American Museum & Gardens. Meet Santa in his grotto and tell him your Christmas wishes.
