As Halloween creeps closer, we hand over to Ellie Collier from Arnos Vale Cemetery Trust – one of Bristol’s spookiest attractions – for #FoodFriday.

I first went to Bravas for a birthday lunch and was so impressed. The range of tapas was interesting and completely delicious. Daily specials make each visit distinct and delightful. The gin and cocktails are also not to be missed!

Windmill Hill City Farm Café

Everything about Windmill Hill City Farm Café is friendly and welcoming. They use produce from the farm to make their super tasty dishes and the cake is always a highlight. I particularly love their Seasonal Specials, which showcase the best produce from the farm.

St Werburghs Farm Café

There’s a bit of a farm theme to my reviews! I love that Bristol has these great community organisations, bringing something a bit different to the food scene. Looking like a hobbit house, it’s the welcoming ethos at St Werburghs Farm Café that I love just as much as the food. Seasonal and always with great vegan and vegetarian options, this place always showcases the joys of local produce.

The Kensington Arms, Stanley Road

Love that these guys won Best Gastropub in this year’s Bristol Life Awards (Arnos Vale was there too and won highly commended in the Leisure and Tourism Awards – quite an accomplishment for this wonderful, welcoming cemetery, even if I do say so myself!). The Kensington Arms always welcomed my dog Biggles with warmth and a good ear tickle. Our favourite is Pie Night on Tuesdays; just the most delicious, honest, tasty pub food, exquisitely presented.
