Membership & Commercial

Rather than having a membership programme that you only hear from once a year when the bill is due, we want to actively engage with our members to offer a wide range of marketing opportunities, ways to save money and networking opportunities.

The trick is to subscribe to (and then read) our weekly newsletter which covers everything from being involved in campaigns to training courses.

For those businesses not wanting to be members, the team offer a range of ‘pay as you play’ opportunities for advertising.

Faye Batchelor Profile

Faye Batchelor - Membership and Commercial Manager

How long have you been with Destination Bristol and what do you do?

I joined Destination Bristol in November 2014 and my primary role is to develop and support the membership programme. This involves liaising with existing members on a daily basis to ensure they are maximising all areas of their membership, keeping up to date with all things new in the city (which can be quite a task at times) and managing the commercial opportunities available at Destination Bristol. I also coordinate the regular members’ forums which take place every few months and our annual conference which is held in November.

Do you have a typical day?

My days are very varied which is one of the things I love about my role as I get to meet so many different people as well as discover areas of the city that I am less familiar with. However an example day would usually consist of a couple of meetings visiting existing or potential members and this could be with a restaurant, hotel, zoo, activity centre or sports stadium for example. Once back in the office I can be found updating member’s listings on, writing the weekly industry newsletter or chatting to businesses in the city about all things Destination Bristol.

What’s your top tip for businesses working with Destination Bristol?

Keep us up to date with everything you are doing however small you think it may be and make sure you are fully utilising all benefits of your membership (sorry, that’s 2 tips).

Mandy Brooman Profile

Mandy Brooman - Office Manager

How long have you been with Destination Bristol and what do you do?

I joined Destination Bristol in February 2015 as Business Support Assistant. At the beginning of 2016 I started in the newly-appointed role of Office Manager, providing administrative support to all departments as well as managing the front office and welcoming visitors. I also oversee the maintenance of our lovely office building on Bristol’s historic Queen Square.

Do you have a typical day?

No two days are ever the same and the variety of my role keeps me pretty busy. I enjoy meeting new people and we often have interesting visitors and guests from overseas dropping in, which is really nice.

What’s your top tip for businesses working with Destination Bristol?

Make sure you take up all of the membership benefits on offer, including advertising your recruitment vacancies on our website. It is my role to upload these vacancies, so please contact me when any opportunities arise.

What is your favourite joke?

Two cannibals are eating a clown. One of them looks up and says, 'Does this taste funny to you?'
