This time of year, things in the travel and tourism industry tend to go a bit crazy.   After a very positive summer, welcoming visitors into Bristol and seeing record breaking visits to our VisitBristol consumer site we are now full steam into media, partnerships, conference and event season.  The last 7 days have been particularly hectic on top of our normal day to day operation so I thought I'd share some of our adventures with you.

We have been busy welcoming new students to the city with UWE’s fresher registration days (the aquarium and music venues was very popular by the way, along with where the good bars are!).  We give our guides, maps and promote the use of our social media for friends and family.

The team were also busy welcoming the cruise ship ‘Europa’ into the Port of Bristol, running a ‘pop-up’ information point to give maps, guides and information to those not joining official excursions.  Many of the 450 German passengers onboard used the shuttle bus service to get into the city and explore for themselves.  Popular asks were great places to eat, where they could find the best cider and typical Bristol gifts to take home.
