Fatboy Slim to Headline Love Saves The Day

30th November 2017

Categories: Latest News

Love Saves The Day has announced two massive headliners for next year’s festival with Fatboy Slim and Sampha headlining Saturday and Sunday respectively. In a major coup for the city’s biggest music event, this will be Fatboy Slim’s first ever Bristol festival.

As winter rears its frosty head, Bristolians can dream of sun-soaked Ibiza vibes in Eastville Park next May (26th and 27th) with Team Love heralding their most ambitious festival yet with two huge headliners.

Famed for his chart-topping big beat remixes and rabble-rousing performances to crowds of up to 250,000 people, Fatboy Slim is musical royalty the world over. His set at LSTD will be an apex for Bristol music festivals for many years to come with tickets expected to sell out far in advance.

This year’s Mercury Prize winner Sampha will cut a very different figure on Sunday at LSTD. His soulful singer-songwriter storytelling has won widespread critical acclaim for the South London artist, who was already making waves with his collaborations with Beyoncé, SBTRKT, Drake, Kanye West and Jessie Ware.

LSTD’s headliner announcement comes early this year, marking a big shake up in how music will be programmed across the festival in 2018. In previous years, each day had its own distinct flavour with House, Techno and live music dominating one and Bass and Grime the other. In 2018, the line-up will be evenly divided across both days with both Saturday and Sunday offering something for everyone.

With 12 stages to choose from, Saturday will feature collaborations with The Blast, Numbers presents Mastermix, Crack Magazine, Futureboogie and Horse Meat Disco, whilst Sunday sees RUN, Knee Deep In Sound, Percolate, Hold Tight and Artwork Presents Art's House.

For the first time, Just Jack and Teaching in Dub will host stages on both days of the festival along with Shambarber, Twisted Theatre, Bump Rollerdisco, the Inflatable Church and the Brystal Maze.

“There’s no doubt that Fatboy Slim and Sampha will deliver epic shows next May,” said Tom Paine of Team Love. “It’s going to be a seminal year for Love Saves The Day. Our line-up is coming together in an incredibly exciting way at the moment and we’ll have much more to say on that in January. Fatboy Slim and Sampha are just the tip of the iceberg!”

Tier 1 and Tier 2 weekend and day tickets for Love Saves The Day are sold out. Tier 3 day tickets are now on available for Saturday and Sunday at £38.50 with Tier 3 weekend tickets available at £71.50. All prices are inclusive of booking fees.

ABOUT LOVE SAVES THE DAY

After years filled with attending festivals and club nights, days spent trudging soundsystems through muddy fields and even more nights occupied on sweatbox dance floors, the ideas behind Love Saves The Day Festival finally got their first home as a one-day event in Castle Park back in 2012.

Fast-forward six years and the original experiences which spurred the festival's beginning now have a story of their own, as Love Saves The Day aims to combine the best of Bristol's thriving underground with pioneering artists from across the globe, showcasing a huge variety of different genres and musical styles in one amazing space.
