Expansion programme triggers recruitment drive

Leading Somerset resort Wookey Hole Caves is on the recruitment trail as part of its investment-driven expansion programme – but witches needn’t apply this time around!

The family favourite at the foot of the Mendip Hills in Somerset has upgraded its attractions above and below ground as it drives forward a £5m investment programme creating an all-year round inland resort to draw the crowds whatever the weather.

The attraction is one of the oldest resorts in the UK and is looking for part and full-time staff to join the 100-strong team as hotel front of house staff, housekeepers, porters, bar staff and gift shop attendants.

Marketing Director Gayle Pennington said: “As an expanding local business we also need guides for the caves and a chef at the Bucklegrove Holiday Park so there are opportunities for all sorts of ages and skill sets.

“We have 100 people on the team rising to around 130 in the summer season, which makes us one of the most significant employers in the immediate area.”

There will be live-in accommodation for some positions.
