Categories: Latest News

New Summertime dishes using ingredients of the season have arrived on the small-plates and evening menu (served from 6pm) at Wellbourne in Clifton Village.

Small plates at Wellbourne Clifton are served between 12noon - 9.30pm (£5 each or 3 for £12). The new arrivals are:
• Yellow beans, Somerset ricotta & hazelnut pesto
• Charred garlic scapes, rapeseed dressing
• Cauliflower cheese croquettes
• Summer chard with Roscoff onions & English sweetcorn
From new starters to deliciously light, fruity desserts, the team has developed a line up of fabulously seasonal dishes for evening diners which show off the best produce available right now. New dishes include:

• Salt cod confit, Scottish girolles, crushed sand potatoes & wild herbs
• Dorset crab, English pea cream, pickled Buddha hand (a citron fruit variety) and wild camomile
• Provençal tomato, English feta, cobnut & pickled raspberry leaves
• Wild halibut T-bone, globe artichoke, English peas & broad beans; Barigoule (artichoke broth) dressing
• Roast Cornish ray, borlotti bean, new season onions & lemon verbena
• Barbary duck, yellow beans, summer chard & shaved ceps
• West Country strawberries, soaked savarin cake & smoked wild juniper cream
• Charentais melon, Demerara molasses & summer savory

Chefs Ross Gibbens and Michael Kennedy have used some of their favourite produce in developing these delicate dishes to create a seasonal menu fit for their first full summer in Clifton Village:

“We get really excited about the arrival of Summer produce pairing up the best fish and seafood, meat and fresh vegetables and of course fruits which are full of Summertime sweetness and vibrancy.

“It’s a joy to feature Somerset peas and Dorset crab alongside West Country strawberries, Isle of Wight tomatoes and Dorset garlic scapes alongside Barbary duck, Ibérico pork, and ray and halibut from Cornwall. It really is a wonderful time of year to be paying homage to seasonal produce.”
