Pierhistoric pals return to seafront attraction

11th March 2019

Categories: Latest News

Dinosaurs are once again taking over Weston-super-Mare’s Grand Pier later this month for another roarsome weekend of fearsome fun.

Dinosaur invasion at the Grand Pier

Titch the Tyrannosaurus Rex proved to be a monster hit when he visited the Pier during the February half-term school holidays.

So much so that the 14-foot-long animatronic character is returning, by popular demand, on Saturday and Sunday, 30 and 31 March.

Once again, he won’t be alone; Titch will be joined by his monstrous mates, Remy, Ralph, Tilly and Gretel.

These are a sit-on animatronic Triceratops, offering fantastic photo opportunities for the under sevens, a ‘baby’ hand-held animatronic dinosaur, an ‘over the shoulder’ animatronic beast and a holdable baby Triceratops.

Titch himself is based on a Tyrannosaurus Rex, complete with snapping jaws, beastly blinking eyes and, of course, an ear-piercing roar.

There will be plenty of props for people to hold onto and pose with, including a giant dinosaur egg and a Jurassic Park-style electric fence display and Jurassic-themed-backdrop – perfect for photos.

Tickets cost just £1 which includes admission to the Pier, and ensures you get a ‘meet and greet’ opportunity with the dinosaurs. (Note; the meet and greet is for ticket holders only).

Tim Moyle, General Manager of the Pier, said: “The dinosaur takeover in February soon sold out so we suggest you book your tickets early to ensure you don’t miss out on the chance to get up close and personal with Titch and his friends on March 30 and 31.

“It would be even better if the brave little explorers who do come face-to-face with the dinosaurs come dressed up in their favourite play costumes. All children who turn up in costume will get a Grand Pier goodie bag.

“If you can’t make it at the end of March, there will be some further opportunities to meet and dinosaurs, on Wednesday 10 April and Wednesday 17 April.”
