The Love Food Spring Festival Returns

15th March 2019

Categories: Latest News

When? Sunday 24th March, 10.30am – 4pm
Where? Paintworks, Bath Rd

The birds are singing, shoots are starting to peep out of the ground, and after what’s felt like a long, wet and windy winter, it’s finally time to celebrate spring. After a short break we are delighted to invite you to join Love Food Festival in its Paintworks home to welcome the coming of spring.

The market hall will be packed with carefully curated superb food including gluten-free cakes from Honeybuns, outstanding sauces and chutneys from Ginger Beard’s preserves, fresh fish and fishcakes from Devon Fishcakes, top notch vegan cheeses from Good Food by Sumear, award winning spice blends from Parva spices and organic cheeses from the Bath Soft Cheese Company.

With Mother’s Day just around the corner, Espensen Sprits will be on hand with delicious infused gins, Chocolate Bar will have their stunning handmade chocolates, The Incredible Brewing Company will have delectable ales if that’s more your mum’s thing, plus Floriography by Vera Fallacy will be on hand to help you to create a special Mother’s Day bouquet with meaning.

There’s plenty for the kids to do too, as the legendary chef Jo Ingleby joins us to make the most of the delicious, free springtime ingredient that is wild garlic. Jo will be demonstrating how to make wild garlic gyoza using fresh seasonal vegetables. Elsewhere, Oodle Doodle will be helping kids to make their own Mother’s Day cards and paper flowers along with felting workshops. Plus story corner will be packed full of nature-based books and games and cushions for some quiet play time.

Come hungry because the street food line-up is epic and includes Ah Ma’s famous dumplings, jerk chicken from Agnes Spencer, venison burgers from Good Game, curries from Thali, tasty baps from Los Hermanos, and Spanish Buffet’s delicious paella. Plus our resident cider lord Dick Willows will provide the drinks. So grab a drink and some food and enjoy the sunshine (fingers crossed) in the courtyard!

If that’s not enough you could tie it in with a walk in Arnos Vale, or dinner at Boca Bar to make it a full day out!

Commenting, Love Food Festival founder Lorna Knapman said: “I am really looking forward to our Spring Festival. It’s a magical time of year with everything, including ourselves, coming back to life after a winter of hibernation. We do hope you’ll join us.
