Beer Festival at the Avon Valley Railway

9th May 2019

Categories: Latest News

The Avon Valley Railway is holding its popular Beer Festival in a few weeks time. Over 25 beers will be on tap from around the UK together with a selection of ciders at the heritage railway in Bitton on Friday 31 May & Saturday 1 June. It’s the 17th annual event and this year is arranged in conjunction with Great Western Brewery.

There are three sessions; the evening of Friday 31st between 6pm – 10.30pm, Saturday 1st June afternoon (12noon – 5pm) and Saturday evening (6pm -10.30pm). Entry is by wristband (for just £3.50) available in advance from the railway’s booking office or by calling the station on 0117 932 5538. These may sell out so advance purchase is highly recommended. Beer vouchers will then be available to purchase on the day once the relevant session starts (and are sadly not available in advance).

Mark Simmons, the railway’s Commercial & Business Manager, said; “Our Beer Festival is a great opportunity to sample a broad range of beers from around the UK. We’re working with Great Western Brewery this year to offer a real wide variety of beers to suit all tastes. They’ll be bringing some of their regular and seasonal brews together with a mix of other beers from around the country. If the weather stay’s as it is right now, it’ll be a perfect way to enjoy a pint or two.’
