Bristol City Centre BID has launched a series of webinars and an online hub for reliable, up-to-date advice and support on coronavirus as city centre businesses and organisations continue to grapple with the enormous challenges posed by Covid-19.

The first webinars, starting this week, will cover everything from retail, rent and landlord issues due to coronavirus through to insurance and risk management around Covid-19-related business interruption, plus how to retain and build new connections when operating remotely.

All sessions are free but spaces are limited, so people are urged to register on the BID website as soon as possible.

The webinar sessions follow the success of Bristol City Centre BID's Covid-19 hub, a single source of information and guidance tailored specifically to Bristol city centre businesses and organisations. Designed to help businesses cut through the deluge of information and collate up-to-date, practical advice and guidance, the hub pulls together details on new grants, loans and business support packages, business rates and the expanded retail discount, and applying for an extension in filing company accounts. This is an addition to specific, local information and access to a live dashboard of reported cases of coronavirus in Bristol.

All information is carefully collated from official sources in order to save businesses and organisations valuable time and resources searching for reliable, up to date information.

Via the ‘Stay Connected' area of the hub, Facebook Groups for specific Bristol city centre areas have been set up in order to help business and organisations to collaborate and communicate collectively.

Keith Rundle, operations director at Bristol City Centre BID says:

"It's impossible to overstate the impact this crisis is having on significant elements of Bristol city centre's business community. The organisations we represent are contending with unexpected challenges and, for many, disastrous consequences. Having up to date advice and support - which, like everything, is changing rapidly can be critical for survival and the effective use of business owners' time. So we have created one single hub for reliable, accurate and timely official information.

"Sharing advice through accessible technology is also a great support so we're very grateful for the time and efforts of some leading experts in order to offer a series of webinars to help businesses navigate a way through the current challenges."
