“This is a really vibrant conference bringing together nurses and other health care staff interested and engaged in education and professional development, there’s always a fantastic atmosphere and delegates go away having made new networks, learnt about best practice and more able to influence the future of nursing education.” Professor Pauline Walsh, Pro Vice Chancellor and Executive Dean, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Keele University and Chair of RCN Education Forum.

The theme of this year’s conference is leadership and it will feature concurrent presentations, ViPER’s, symposia and poster presentations, as well as a number of workshops and masterclasses which will share the pioneering work going on across the UK in supporting nursing and developing the next generation of nurse leaders.

This is an annual conference and is the first time it will be held in the South West with Bristol being the destination city of choice. We will be joined at the conference by local speakers including Professor Steven West CBE, DL   Vice-Chancellor, President and Chief Executive Officer of the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol) whose keynote will focus on supporting mental health and wellbeing. Professor West will be discussing the important work being carried out by the UUK mental health in universities working group which he currently Chairs and resultant stepchange initiative.

Destination Bristol’s convention bureau ‘Meet Bristol’ are working closely with the RCN, providing local knowledge and connections to enhance the delegate experience.
