Destination Bristol has an exciting opportunity for a motivated, enthusiastic individual to assist the Redcliffe BID Development Manager in setting up a new Business Improvement District (BID) in Bristol’s Redcliffe area.  

This position will involve liaising with business representatives and the successful candidate must enjoy meeting new people, be able to keep accurate records and enjoy communicating via social media channels.

This role is offered as a fixed term contract until September 2020.

Post: Redcliffe BID Development Assistant 
Salary: Circa £20,000 p.a. (depending on experience)
Contract: Fixed term contract until September 2020
Working pattern/hours: 37 hours per week over 5 days
Managed by: Redcliffe BID Development Manager

Purpose of job:

To assist the BID Development Manager in developing a first class Business Improvement District (BID) proposal and BID Business Plan for a new Redcliffe BID, with the vote scheduled for September 2020. The overall aim being to secure a YES vote at ballot. 

BIDs are business led partnerships which are created through a ballot process to deliver additional services to local businesses. For more info about BIDs see: https://britishbids.info/about/what-is-a-bid 

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Providing administrative support to the Redcliffe BID Development Manager and BID Management Group.
  • Supporting the BID Development Manager in developing a BID proposal and BID Business Plan with KPIs, in cooperation with the BID Management Group and the wider BID Business Community.
  • Identifying and contacting property owners/rate payers in the BID area.
  • Assisting in the development and maintenance of a BID contact database and documentation.
  • Assisting in calculating BID income and management of BID budget. 
  • Engaging with businesses and other key stakeholders (including City Council and Police) to create a positive climate within which local and national business stakeholders will favour and advocate a new Redcliffe BID.
  • Following up enquiries raised about the BID. 
  • Organising and contributing to meetings and workshops. 
  • Assisting with newsletters and mail outs. 
  • Assisting with the development of the BID Prospectus, Website and Social Media.
  • Updating website and managing Social Media.
  • Assisting with general BID campaign work. 

General:

  • Carry out duties in compliance with the Destination Bristol’s Equal Opportunities policies.
  • Be responsible for own safety and not to endanger that of colleagues/visitors in the workplace.
  • Undertake other duties commensurate with the grade in relation to a post of this nature.
