Information

Join maker Rosa Martyn to explore using crochet as a sculptural technique. With simple motions and stitches, found items can be wrapped, built upon and joined together to create unique pieces inspired by the work of Veronica Ryan.

In this workshop, Rosa introduces a range of techniques that can be used to incorporate elements of crochet into your own practice.

You are welcome to use your own found objects in this workshop. Crochet hooks, yarn and a selection of objects will be sent to those who sign up before Friday 11 June.

I AM MAKING ART

These regular activity sessions at Spike Island are led by artists. Participants of all ages and abilities can try out new techniques and approaches to making art, from drawing and painting to collage, sculpture and animation.

“I found that crocheting was a good way to deal with the momentum of time” – Veronica Ryan
