Sherlock

Elementary, my dear Watson.

Bristol has played host to the Sherlock (Hartswood Films for BBC1) production team on various occasions since the series began in 2010. The series features Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes and Martin Freeman as John Watson as they take on a case load of strange mysteries.

The Bristol Film Office's trail map will take you to places such as that of the stand-off between Sherlock and Moriarty in 'A Scandal in Bohemia' (Series 2), the nail-biting Guy Fawkes moment in 'The Empty Hearse' (Series 3) and John Watson's unforgettable wedding in 'The Sign of Three' (Series 3). More recently, the production used Bristol's The Bottle Yard Studios as its base and various Bristol locations for the Sherlock special, 'The Abominable Bride' (transmission date 1st January 2016). These locations included Tyntesfield, Colston Hall Vaults, Queen Square and King Street and the Bristol Old Vic Theatre.

Follow in the footsteps of Sherlock and Watson and download or print the special Sherlock Trail Map which will take you to all of the locations and will give you more details of what was filmed in each location.
