About the trail
This summer, Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Appeal are hosting a third Bristol arts trail across the city, and there will be not one, but three characters taking part: lovable canine Gromit will be joined by his old pal Wallace and arch nemesis Feathers McGraw.
The award-winning charity has raised over £50 million to save lives and support sick children and their families at Bristol Children’s Hospital since 1995. Funds raised have helped, and are helping, patients and their families in the hospital to have access to the best medical care, pioneering equipment, expert doctors and nurses, family accommodation and patient activities.
The public art trails will feature over 60 giant sculptures of the popular characters created by Aardman – the Academy Award®-winning animation studio. Each of the sculptures is individually designed by high-profile artists, designers, innovators and local talent.
Locations and Trails
The sculptures will be located across the city and surrounding areas, so you'll be able to discover parts of Central, North, South, West and East Bristol that you may have not otherwise visited. There are also some themed ‘trails within trails’ and smaller bitesize trails to add to your quest.
App and Map
A printed map, available at selected locations across the city will be available from the beginning of July. You'll also be able to download a special Gromit Unleashed 2 app to help hunt down and record the sculptures you find, as well as a special passport trail to celebrate the trail’s innovation themes.
