This wildlife rich nature reserve is a waterway alongside the River Avon. The Avon New Cut is home to a variety of plants and animals, including some rare species. The site includes the Butterfly Junction near the Create Centre, which is approximately 1.8 miles long. The Avon New Cut runs from near Temple Meads Railway Station to the Cumberland Basin.
The site is open to the public at all times and admission is free. The nearest car parks are at Brunel Lock Road and at the Maritime Heritage Centre. The nature reserve is mostly wheelchair accesible. However, there are steps at the 'Banana' Bridge and at Vauxhall Bridge.
