Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Appeal host a third Bristol arts trail across the city, and for the first time, there will be not one, but three characters taking part: lovable canine Gromit will be joined by his old pal Wallace and arch nemesis Feathers McGraw.
The public art trails will feature over 60 giant sculptures of popular characters created by Aardman – the Academy Award®-winning animation studio.
Feathers McGraw, the criminal mastermind penguin, is on the loose again and the dynamic duo is out to track him down! Gromit is raring to go, but Wallace can’t resist having a nice sit down to soak up the scenery, and enjoy a lovely cup of tea at every opportunity.
This will be the first sculpture trail in the world to feature three licensed characters, and a number of Bristol's leading institutions, pioneering technology companies and international engineering firms will join The Grand Appeal to make this the most innovative sculpture trail yet.
In 2013 the charity launched Gromit Unleashed, which saw 80 Gromit sculptures decorate Bristol’s streets and in 2015 it brought 70 Shaun the Sheep sculptures to the city, as well as the nation’s Capital in its Shaun in the City trail.
The award-winning charity has raised over £50 million to save lives and support sick children and their families at Bristol Children’s Hospital since 1995. Funds raised have helped, and are helping, patients and their families in the hospital to have access to the best medical care, pioneering equipment, expert doctors and nurses, family accommodation and patient activities.
