This spring MAYK are presenting a gently unfolding series of MAYK supported artworks that sit somewhere between performance, film and audio.
Here's Bert & Nasi. You may remember them from PALMYRA in Mayfest 2018, or you may have caught EUROHOUSE, developed through Bristol Ferment. Through lockdown they've been working on HELLO, a new digital project that unravels over a week, and was commissioned with The Lowry.
While we wait to meet again, without restrictions, you are invited to spend some time with Bert & Nasi through a series of artworks delivered directly to your phone. This project will makes you laugh and cry, disarm you and connect you all at once.
Combining snippets of real phone conversations with pictures, texts and music, HELLO is a cross between a video diary and a series of postcards sent between two friends. It is a rumination on creativity, melancholia and what it takes to maintain connection at distance.
Every day for 7 days you will receive text messages from Bert & Nasi with a link to a different film. All the films will be available until the end of the week, then once they're gone, they're gone.
Commissioned by The Lowry and MAYK. Supported by Arts Council England. Bert and Nasi are produced by Farnham Maltings.
