Milk Poetry ft. Chris White & Aiysha Humphreys at The Wardrobe Theatre
Tel: +44 (0)117 902 0344
Milk Poetry selects the finest, freshest poets from the UK and beyond to produce the most nourishing and eclectic spoken word bonanza you could ever hope for, hosted by Malaika Kegode (Outlier)
Milk Poetry is back! Bringing fresh, nutritious poetry from Bristol and beyond to The Wardrobe Theatre. After a long break, Milk Poetry is focused on creating innovative, inclusive and exciting spoken word shows, so expect collaborations, familiar faces and genre-breaking in this Autumn season of performance poetry from "one of the best spoken word nights in the UK" (Picador).
Chris White is a poet, performer, multiple slam winner and submerging artist festering in Devon. He's taken his work to theatres, festivals and spoken-word nights across the UK from Tongue Fu to Latitude. He's the host of Spork! Poetry in Exeter, and has recently been commissioned by Cape Farewell and Exeter UNESCO City of Literature. In his silly, surreal way he often talks about queerness, identity and ducks. Chris will be joining Milk Poetry fresh from a run of his show Moist, Moist, Moist at The Pleasance in London.
Aiysha is a poet and artist from Cornwall, living in Bristol. They explore the heavy topics of mental illness, loss, queer and mixed heritage identity and oranges, whilst bringing humour and lightness to their work. Their poetry couples a gentleness with the articulate fury of a generation, equally at home at a DIY gig as it is at any major spoken word event.
Come along for a unique, fun and inquisitive couple of hours of poetry and performance.
