Falklands to Bristol: An Extraordinary Journey
Celebrate the SS Great Britain's anniversary marking '50 Years Back Home in Bristol' by exploring this free outdoor exhibition on Bristol's harbourside.
The images show the incredible journey the SS Great Britain has taken, from beached wreck to Bristolian landmark. Enjoy Bristol's harbourside and discover the ship's story in this exhibition, depicting some of the most epic moments from her dramatic resue and homecoming.
The exhibition is presented in collaboration with the Falkland Islands Government, and includes photos of Falkland Islands life today, revealing where the SS Great Britain set from off on her remarkable homecoming journey.
It is part of a programme of activities this year celebrating the SS Great Britain's 50 years back home in Bristol.
Whilst you're there, enjoy a refreshment from the outdoor kiosk. Take-away hot cold or drinks, ice creams and snacks are available.
Contactless card payments only. Social distancing measures are in place. Open Wednesday to Sunday, 11am to 5.30pm.
Brunel Square is located beside Brunel’s SS Great Britain. While the museum currently remains closed, the harbourside location and outdoor photography exhibition offer a spacious, relaxing location to drop by during harbourside walks in Bristol.
