Bristol Children's Hospital's dedicated charity, The Grand Appeal, has launched their festive fundraising campaign, ‘Shine Bright for Bristol Children’s Hospital’ for a third year running. It encourages the people of Bristol to visit over 30 Christmas displays and donate - all in the name of creating seasonal sparkle for sick kids.

Looking for a fun family day out? Plan a winter walk and visit a display in your area. It's a great time to wrap up warm, get into the festive spirit and engage with your local community.

Before you head for a frosty evening stroll, use the charity’s online interactive map which highlights some of the region's most magical and enchanting houses and gardens. At each display you can donate your pennies to support young patients at Bristol Children’s Hospital this Christmas.

Bristol Children's Hospital

Once again, The Grand Appeal is projecting a magical animated snow globe display on the children's hospital each day in December from 4 pm. The display features many festive Gromits, Feathers McGraws and even a festive Shaun the Sheep and stars, bringing joy to the city centre. Want to be a part of it?  Sponsor a star or Gromit through your company.  

Brailsford Lights

The Brailsford's light display in Brentry is one of the biggest light trails around. Each year they turn their home into the most festive house and this year is no different. Here you'll find hot chocolate, a raffle, a snow machine and a festive Gromit sculpture to take Christmas selfies with. If you’ve been good this year, you can even meet Santa on Christmas Eve between 4 to 6 pm.

The Original Santa Float

The Original Santa Float is back and is making its way around towns in South Gloucestershire and Bristol. The float brings festive joy to thousands of people in the local community. Keep up to date with their visits, locations and times with their frequently updated Facebook Page.

Vee Dub Christmas Cruz

From 24 November until 1 January, the roads of Bristol and beyond will shine extra bright thanks to the Vee Dubs family who will be visiting many light displays in their most spectacular vans.

If you’re local to Weston-Super-Mare or Portishead on 9 and 10 December, then you’re in for a treat. The Vee Dub will family come together in full force, decorating over 200 VWs with more fairy lights than you can imagine. It’s two enchanting yet extraordinary Christmas Cruzs that should be at the top of your calendar. Keep up to date with the Vee Dub family.

California Road

If you're lucky enough to live out east, this is one fantastic house display to visit. Think homemade decorations, wooden reindeer, snowmen, Christmas trees, giant lollipops and even an inflatable Santa. 

Farrier Way Light Show

A light display in Whitchurch with a difference. Farrier Way Light Show features thousands of LED lights that flash to music. It lasts around 30 minutes and features 12 songs.

Winterbourne Wonderland

An incredible display with over 50,000 lights! This display is so magical they are having not one but two switch on events! Visit them on 25 and 26 November and there will be Christmas music, a raffle, a 13ft smart pixel tree with a north pole, enchanted forest and nativity area.

Christmas Hollow

In October, Natasha’s ‘Hollow’ was hauntingly scary, attracting visitors across Bristol to view her spooky Halloween display. Once the clock strikes midnight, the ‘Christmas Hollow’ is in full swing. Visit this fantastic light display in Chipping Sodbury, with inflatables, gingerbread people and a Wallace & Gromit-themed section, with pin badges for a small donation.

Garton Gaff

Join the Garton Gaff in Stockwood, with lights on from 5.30 to 9.30 pm daily. This display even features a big Gingerbread house with a grotto to meet Santa.

Boscombe Crescent

Two houses opposite each other in Downend are decked out with an incredible light display with lit up reindeers, Christmas trees and two giant teddy bears. Their switch on event is on 18 November with hot chocolate and mince pies, a raffle and singing Santa.

AJ Slade Christmas lights

Aaron and Jenna Slade have transformed their house into an impressive illumination for a third year running. From 5 pm every day in Lawrence Weston you’ll find the couple’s jolly light display with Santa, reindeer, stars, sleighs and holly too.
