Clifton Village once again promises to be the most magical place in Bristol to shop, dine and relax this festive season. The celebrations start on Tuesday 12th November with the spellbinding 'Christmas Light Switch On' organised by BID Clifton Village.
Star of the show will be none other than the biggest Christmas tree in the South-West, Norman, a 50ft Norway Spruce who will take residence in the Mall Gardens for eight weeks!
The fun starts at 6.00pm with community carol singing around the tree for all to enjoy led by the Christ Church Choir. This is followed by a short blessing by the Vicar of Christ Church Rev Paul Langham before the big switch on at 6.30pm. The tree will be fully illuminated and Clifton will be officially celebrating the Christmas period! The event is in support of The Brandon Trust.
At 7.00pm, all visitors are invited to The Clifton Arcade for a spot of late night shopping, prosecco and choir performances by students from Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.
In the run up to Christmas the streets will be glowing with decorations, fairy lights and over 100 little Christmas trees adorning many of the shops. The impressive and unique range of independent shops and boutiques in Clifton Village make finding that perfect gift for loved ones simple and the many cafes, pubs and restaurants provide the ideal place to relax and soak up the festive atmosphere.
