What is The Big Lunch?
The Big Lunch is the UK’s annual celebration for neighbours and communities. Every year in June, since the idea began in 2009, millions of people come together where they live to enjoy food and fun in a nationwide act of community and friendship. The people who take part fundraise on average £8million each year for good causes. The Big Lunch is an idea from the Eden Project made possible by The National Lottery, and this year becomes The Big Jubilee Lunch as an official part of HM The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebrations on 2-5 June. Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cornwall is patron.
