The BIG Summer Send-Off at Bristol Zoo Gardens
Tel: +44 (0)1179030609
This summer is the final opportunity to visit Bristol Zoo Gardens before it closes on 3 September 2022. They’ll be celebrating the Zoo’s 185-year history with a ‘BIG Summer Send-Off’.
From 21 July, there'll be amazing activities and attractions – designed by award-winning, Bristol-based theatrical events company, Bakehouse Factory – which will leave visitors in awe.
The centrepiece of the celebrations will be a giant interactive sculpture, Wilder the gorilla, and her baby Monty-Alan, which are sure to captivate visitors!
The BIG Summer Send-Off will also feature a collaborative timeline exhibit in our historic top terrace walkway. The exhibit will evolve over the summer, as visitors add their own photos, stories and memories from the past.
Go 'Into The Wild'
Escape the everyday, in a fun family theatre show, starring animal puppets and the audience as conservation heroes!
This shared experience will take families on an adventure as they explore and learn about animals, and the positive action we can all take to protect the future of the planet.
Share your memories #TheZooAndYou
Join in this fun social campaign by sharing your fondest memories of the Zoo using hashtag #TheZooAndYou.
Anyone can get involved and some of the photos will have the chance to feature on a grand timeline exhibit – part of the BIG Summer Send-Off.
As well as looking back on so many special moments and memories, these summer events will look to the future of the new Bristol Zoo, which will be created at sister site, Wild Place Project.
