About
The Big Tent Festival - this year focused on Transitions - gives you the opportunity to have your say on the issues that matter to you. With guests including politicians from local level up to Cabinet Ministers, business and community leaders and campaigners, the event will take place in large tents in Queen's Square and gives everyone the chance to debate and hear views in a friendly and informal atmosphere.
Key topics under discussion at the festival include the drive to net zero and cost implications; how to achieve a more equitable society; the role of big data in public services; and achieving better conversation through new media and culture.
An Art Wall and a Speaker's Corner provide extra opportunity for you to have your say - as well as enjoying the panel discussions with plenty of audience interaction. Check out the next generation of Bristol entrepreneurs as we match them with investors in our Dragon's Den style event.
Confirmed speakers include Ministers Michael Gove MP and George Freeman MP, Shadow Minister, Stephen Kinnock MP, Liberal Democrat Party Leader Sir Ed Davey and Green Party Deputy Leader Amelia Womack as well as a number of MPs including Darren Jones MP, Kerry McCarthy MP and Layla Moran MP. Representatives from business include Bruce Daisley, former head of Twitter (Europe) and Mark Robinson, Chair of the Government's High St Taskforce.
