If you’re visiting with a larger party, we recommend booking ahead as some restaurants may want you to order in advance, or venues may be able to reserve you a special area or private space.
Harbourside
The harbourside is home to many of the city's lively bars and restaurants, with some of the larger restaurants near the water’s edge being Harbour House, Riverstation and Steak of the Art.
For waterside burgers, dogs, craft beer, shakes and floats in a relaxed environment, try Three Brothers Burgers. If you're looking for a lively spot to enjoy food and cocktails, pay a visit to Bambalan in the city centre, which also has a great roof terrace for warmer days.
Par 59 combines mini golf, cocktails and street food in a fun venue close to many of the city’s top attractions.
Old City
Don’t let the grand architecture of Corn Street and Broad Street fool you – this is the epicentre of Bristol’s dining and drinking scene, with more cocktail bars and restaurants than you could possibly count, and plenty of choice to please everyone in your group.
The Milk Thistle is a cocktail bar set across three floors, so there’s more than enough room to spread out. If you want to set your group a challenge, head to Roxy Lanes for some bowling, or get competitive with some social darts and cocktails at Flight Club.
King Street is the beating heart of Bristol’s beer scene, home to the ‘Beermuda Triangle’ of craft beer bars where the crowds spill out on to the cobbles most nights of the week. Listen to some free jazz music at The Old Duke, sample your way through the latest beers brewed on site at King Street Brew House, or bar hop your way along the street to Bristol’s famous cider boat, The Apple.
If you need to refuel, The Granary or Aqua on Welsh Back or The Cow & Sow on Queen Square are all just a stone’s throw from the action of King Street and the harbour, with plenty of room for groups.
Clifton
Clifton Village offers a more relaxed atmosphere with popular bars and restaurants such as The Clifton Sausage for hearty British classics, or Racks for live sport and daily deals on food and drink.
The White Lion is famous for its views of the Avon Gorge and Clifton Suspension Bridge, and Channings has a large beer garden to enjoy on warmer days.
Park Street and Whiteladies Road are another hotspot for nightlife and buzzing restaurants – Pizza on the Park is a large pizzeria just off Clifton Triangle which has plenty of room for groups, and Allstars Sports Bar is a great stop to watch the live sport or play some pool.
Bristol Shopping Quarter
You'll find many popular chain restaurants in Cabot Circus and Broadmead, such as Côte Brasserie and The Real Greek, which are a great pit stop as you explore the city centre.
