Rail
Bristol has two mainline railway stations. Bristol Temple Meads is located in the city centre. There are several options for ongoing travel from here, on local rail services, many bus services including the Bristol Flyer Airport Bus and Bristol Ferry Boats that will take you to various locations around the central harbourside.
Bristol Parkway is located north of Bristol, an 8-minute direct train journey from Bristol Temple Meads.
Local rail services will take you around the city with stations including Lawrence Hill, Redland, Clifton Down, Sea Mills, Shirehampton.

Bus
First Bus services run throughout Bristol and the surrounding areas. You can purchase tickets via the First Bus app, with a contactless card or cash on board the bus.

Cycle
Bristol has cycle routes on the majority of main roads and a selection of shops hiring out bikes to visitors.

Walk
Bristol is a compact city and a great place to walk around. Walking routes are well signposted for visitors on foot. Look out for the blue information points dotted throughout the city, which feature detailed street maps and key points of interest to help you find your way. You might want to just wander under your own steam, grab a map and take in the city.

Boat
The water taxi is a great way to see the city. The boat picks up from Bristol Temple Meads station, stopping at the city centre and various points of interest across the harbourside including Brunel’s SS Great Britain. Bristol Ferry Boats, Bristol Packet Boat Trips and Number Seven Boat Trips all operate in Bristol Harbour.
Road
The city is ideally located for road access from London, Birmingham and the rest of the UK, with the intersection of the M4 and M5 motorways located just to the north of Bristol and the M32 providing direct access to the centre. From the M4, exit at junction 19 (signpost to Bristol) and follow the M32 into the city centre. From the M5, exit at junction 18 and follow the A4 Portway (signpost to Bristol Airport). The north of the city is best accessed from junction 17 of the M5.

Clean Air Zone
Bristol has introduced a Clean Air Zone in the city centre area. You can use the government’s compliance checking tool (GOV.UK) to check if your vehicle would be charged. A map and further information about the Clean Air Zone in Bristol can be found on the Bristol City Council Clean Air Zone hub.
