Alongside the British Art Show, the Bristol Fringe will bring together existing activity happening across the city, helping visitors discover Bristol’s wider visual arts beyond the four British Art Show 10 host venues.
British Art Show 10 is expected to bring a significant increase in visitors to Bristol, presenting a major opportunity to showcase the breadth and diversity of the city’s creative and cultural offer to new audiences from across the UK and beyond. The Bristol Fringe will amplify the profile of local participating venues, artists and creatives. New visitors to Bristol will be invited to engage with all that the city’s arts and culture scene has to offer. By creating connections between the main British Art Show exhibition and Bristol Fringe activity taking place across the city, the programme will encourage visitors to stay longer, explore further and make the most of everything Bristol has to offer.
The Bristol Fringe will be supported by a local marketing campaign delivered by British Art Show 10 Bristol Partners and Visit West, with a particular focus on maximising the significant boost in tourism that the exhibition will bring to the city. All submissions accepted as part of the Fringe programme will be listed on the British Art Show 10 Bristol website.
All included activities will be promoted as part of the Bristol Fringe and included on a citywide map designed to help audiences discover new venues across Bristol. The campaign will include digital marketing and physical promotion across the city, and will be supported by a PR campaign that will engage local and national arts and culture press.
