British Art Show 10: A Chorus of Strangers in Bristol

What is the British Art Show?

The British Art Show 10 is the UK’s largest recurring contemporary art exhibition. It is curated by Ekow Eshun and produced by Hayward Gallery Touring. It will tour to Coventry, Swansea, Bristol, Sheffield and Newcastle Gateshead.

Curator Ekow Eshun’s vision brings together over 30 artists as part of British Art Show 10: A Chorus of Strangers, showcasing the most exciting art produced in the UK over the last five years, to invite us to think about how art can challenge fears of otherness and difference.

Organised around three interwoven themes, it sets out to create a gathering point of many perspectives that offer an alternative to the division and anxiety many of us are experiencing in the world right now:

  • Moments of Being – artistic practices that look inwards at dreams, memory and the subconscious as sites of reflection and transformation.
  • A Common Ground – artists looking at self and society, engaging with history, politics and community.
  • Everything at Once – artists looking at self and ecology, the natural and more-than-human world.
