We caught up with Bristol Craft Beer Festival founder Greg Wells to find out a bit more about what to expect at this year's Craft Beer Festival (11-13 September) one of the first big events in Bristol post-lockdown! Over to you Greg...

Bristol Craft Beer Festival 2020 - Visit Bristol Food Friday

The last few months have been a weird old time haven't they…Bristol is usually at the centre of all things culture and food, but this summer we’ve not had a lot of that!

But all that’s about to change, because it's time to sit back, relax and raise a glass to the return of Bristol Craft Beer Festival.

There will, quite naturally, be numerous safety procedures in place for  all those in attendance. This includes full PPE at service areas, updating queuing and directional signage for visitors, app-based registration to comply with track and trace, rigorous cleaning and sanitising throughout and in between sessions, increased entry and exit points, increased toilet facilities as well as admittance by advance tickets only and no cash payments.

While beer is the heart of what we do at BCBF, food is definitely the soul. This year, we’re welcoming the best of the best of Bristol street food carefully chosen to pair perfectly with your brew(s) of choice. Here’s what we have in store for you over the weekend

The Bites

Murray May

There aren’t too many people in this world who can take a clapped out old ambulance and turn it into a roving kebab truck with it’s own charcoal powered grill. Arguably the best kebabs in the entire city. Ewan and Thecla are just awesome

Popti + Beast

Joining us for the first time this year, Popti + Beast will be heading over from St Werburghs to serve up some of their organic treats! Think great burgers and delicious sandwiches.

Two Belly

Beer and cheese and cheese and beer -  it doesn't matter which way you look at it, you just can’t go wrong with that duo.. Dom and the guys have got some serious knowledge when it comes to these two, they’ve just got a way of taking two products and pairing them up perfectly. Top tip: Just do what Dom says and you really can’t go wrong.

The Brews

With over 40 breweries in attendance, local stalwarts Wiper and True, Arbor Ales, Bristol Beer Factory, Electric Bear, Fierce & Noble, Wild Beer, Lost & Grounded, Left Handed Giant, New Bristol, Good Chemistry and Wild Beer all making an appearance.

Visitors can expect to sample the wares from some of the finest breweries here in the UK, with the likes of Tiny Rebel, Mondo, Braybrooke, Gipsy Hill and plenty more making the annual bristol craft beer festival pilgrimage.

While reps from some of the world’s biggest and best may not be able to personally attend, that doesn't mean to say the beer won't be there! Our European Bar will be amply stocked with beers from some of Europe’s most esteemed breweries such as Lervig, Dugges,White Hag and Pohjala.

As is now tradition with Bristol Craft Beer Festival, each year comes with its own special signature brew, available for the first time during the event itself.

This year's brew is a special saison from the team at Wiper and True, called Festival Saison and you couldn’t get closer to home as the beer will be brewed at the team’s headquarters in St Werburghs in the lead up to the festival weekend.

Attendance to this year's Bristol Craft Beer Festival is on a strict advance ticket basis, with no walk ups available. Tickets are available here. Follow along with all the announcement and pre-festival fun on social media by following @bristolcbf on Instagram and Twitter.
