Windmill Hill City Farm is gearing up for its summer events programme, which will include a children's farm club, outdoor play sessions, live music around the campfire, outdoor theatre, comedy evenings and a new pop-up tap room.

Before the programme kicks off next week, we invited Marketing & Events Manager Simone Dougall to share her #FoodFriday picks.

The City Farm Café at Windmill Hill City Farm

Working in the office directly above the City Farm Café means I don’t have to go far for my foodie treats. I’ll nip down in the morning for a coffee and often spy a group of our volunteers at the kitchen door, laden with freshly picked produce from the gardens. It'll appear again in my lunch a few hours later. Forget food miles, we are talking food steps!

Bocabar

Bocabar has always been a firm favourite for a casual get-together with family and friends. Whether meeting for cocktails on the terrace at Finzels Reach or a pizza on the sofa at Paintworks, you can always rely on really good quality food and brilliant service in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. Hard to beat that!

Sundial Kitchen at Amba House

The clever people at Sundial Kitchen in Totterdown have created a killer element on their (already fantastic) breakfast menu, The crispy, buttery, confit potatoes are so delicious and so popular with locals that I hear they are being sold by the bag at the kitchen door! Shhhhhhhh!

San Carlo

We recently celebrated my daughter's 16th Birthday at San Carlo, and it ticked all the boxes for a memorable family celebration. With its mirrored interior and giant vases filled with flowers, it manages to feel glitzy and glamourous, without being formal. The varied menu works for a family with individual tastes, as it ranges from a plate of grilled scallops, to a traditional Sicilian pizza or calzone.

Kind Regards Coffee

My son has just moved to Easton and on a recent dog walk at Eastville park, we discovered this foodie gem. Kind Regards Coffee serve out-of-this-world toasties from their cute, blue vintage transit van, parked up at the side of the park. I want to try them all but can’t stop ordering the New York Deli (pastrami, Swiss cheese, mustard, pickles), described by someone on Instagram as uhmazeballs!!
