Creative and Cultural Bristol
Bristol is a city known for its vibrant creative culture and in recent years has seen its reputation grow to become an important and influential international creative hub.
If you're looking for a venue that inspires creativity or comes with cultural significance then you've come to the right place. We have art galleries, cinemas, the theatre or even street art tours that can inspire a creative space or bring your team together as culture vultures.
Bristol's sense of unorthodoxy has always driven its creativity, and it is increasingly recognised as one of the most important cultural cities in the UK. Beautiful Victorian galleries sit comfortably alongside modern museums and dynamic art spaces to offer exciting alternative event spaces.
Over 20,400 people are employed in the creative and media sector in the region and there is a huge diversity of talent from animation and film, post-production, digital and media businesses.
Paul Appleby, Chair of Bristol Media and Creative Sector Chair at the West of England LEP said: "The dynamic creative sector in Bristol is the cornerstone of the wider LEP area, which includes Bath, and is now the third point on a triangle with Manchester and London. Creative England, Creative Skillset and BT Nexus are based in each, and the BBC has moved key brands from Birmingham to make Bristol its factual TV production centre.
"Creative Industries sit alongside High Tech and Low Carbon as the foremost sectors for inward investment and are the focus of the Enterprise Zone in Temple Quarter, the last undeveloped area in the city. A raft of companies have moved into the Zone including Bristol University's technology incubator SETsquared, with a connection to its High-Performance Computing Centre that provides an experimental test-bed for new projects."
Bristol is also the base for multi award-winning Aardman Animations, home to Morph, Shaun the Sheep and Wallace & Gromit. Banksy and 'See No Evil' have also ensured the city is increasingly recognised internationally for its street art. The city's streets offer and incredible outdoor gallery with expert guided walks, plus the opportunity to create your own masterpiece.
This is the city that has street art on most of its street corners and live music in most of its bars. If you're looking for something up-tempo and exciting then these are the venues for you.
