Romy Gill offers a five hours courses as well as bespoke cookery courses for a beginner or more experienced cook who wants to take their culinary skills to the next level. 

The day will start with Romy discussing the spices and herbs she is going to use for the dishes over cup of Chai/coffee. Importance of the flavours and smells of different spices in the dishes. There will be chance to cook your own dishes. Demonstrations from Romy on how to cook the dishes and cook perfect rice. 

You will learn to make the spice mixes for the dishes and use them to make delicious dishes at home. After you have finished the cooking, lunch will be served with local cider and wine and you can discuss your dishes with Romy.

Ruby and White Butchery Masterclasses

Set to launch in the Spring of 2015; Ruby & White Butchery Masterclasses are the perfect introduction for those looking to get to grips with the fundamental skills of the butchery trade. In addition to the butchery basics, the short, practical courses - based in the award-winning shop on Whiteladies Road, will also aim to cover everything from an overview of modern farming processes in the UK to essential knife skills and care.

Attendees will each have the opportunity to observe Ruby & White Master Butcher Dave Kelly demonstrating his butchery expertise, before setting to work themselves to create their own joints of meat - even taking a little of their wares home to share with friends and family.

Class sizes are extremely limited in order to provide the best and most beneficial experience for each attendee. Launching with a choice of three initial classes - Game, Pork and Beef; the beef class sees Ruby & White teaming up with their sister restaurant, The Cowshed, to offer an in-depth guide to steak, instilling attendees with the confidence to select, cut, season and cook the perfect steak at home.
