Bristol is a fantastic option in the golf break market with courses, facilities and packages that have captured the travelling golfers imagination. Add to this a great city that offers everything in the way of ''apres golf’’ and this has got to be a must for your golf break destination.
Bristol Golf Breaks and Golf South West are leading golf tour operators in the region. If you are planning a golf break to Bristol we suggest talking through options with the experts. Bristol is blessed with some beautiful golf courses including the immaculate parkland course at Long Ashton Golf Club, home of Ryder Cup star Chris Wood.
Starting south of the city Burnham & Berrow, Weston super Mare and Worlebury offer links golf to die for. Nothing for the feint hearted here as the Bristol Channel’s breezes are rarely missing. To break up the seaside feel Enmore Park adds a touch of lovely parkland to this side of the city. Brean Golf Club offers a challenging 18-hole course with small greens and water hazards.
Moving nearer to the city Clevedon, Filton and Henbury offer the choice of wonderful old, tree lined courses. The view from the opening holes at Clevedon over The Bristol Channel are worth getting up for on their own irrespective of the golf you play.
Ashton Court Golf Course offers two 18-hole par 3 golf courses where members of the public can 'pay and play', as well as FootGolf and DiscGolf for you to try!
Shirehampton, Knowle and Tall Pines offer fabulous parkland facilities very close to the heart of the city. The welcome at all three clubs is renowned and all offer Saturday tee times for visiting groups. Tall Pines also has the added benefit of its proximity to Bristol Airport for groups looking for a game just before they depart or shortly after arriving in the city.
The Kendleshire and The Players Club are the youngest courses in the city but don’t get fooled by age. These two clubs have already created fabulous reputations for themselves with visitors returning time and time again to play the great water holes that both offer.
Bowood Golf Course & Golf Academy in Wiltshire is renowned as one of the finest golf courses in Wiltshire and is the PGA Official Golf Course for the South West. The course also offers extensive practice facilities, including a 3-hole PGA Academy Course, putting greens and a floodlit, covered driving range, as well as tuition from a team of PGA Professionals and a well-stocked Pro Shop.
The 240 acres of mature parkland that play host to Tracy Park’s golf courses, The Crown and The Cromwell, make for a truly spectacular landscape too. With the picturesque sight of their Georgian manor house steeped in the beautiful surroundings of the English Cotswolds, you’re not likely to forget a round of golf at Tracy Park any time soon.
Further south just outside Bridgwater is Enmore Park Golf Club. Located at the foot of the rolling Quantock Hills, the course offers extensive views over to Glastonbury Tor in the distance, the Somerset coastline and across the Bristol Channel to Wales. The course has two loops of nine starting and finishing at the clubhouse. The course offers a challenging test to all standards of golfer.
