Real Outdoor Rock Climbing at Mendip Activity Centre
About
This 2 hour outdoor climbing session takes place on a real rock face at Mendip Activity Centre's private quarry, Sandford quarry. The beautiful disused limestone quarry is situated in North Somerset, close to Cheddar Gorge and a short drive south of Bristol.
These sessions are suitable for beginner rock climbers and those who've tried it once or twice before. No previous experience is required! Every session is different and depends on the weather, the group and your previous experience. Outdoor climbing on a real rock face is slightly different to indoor climbing.
On these climbing sessions, you'll get a chance to develop your skills! Under the careful supervision of our highly qualified instructors you'll take it in turns to belay and climb. The sense of achievement, exhilaration and confidence you'll gain from this experience cannot be beaten. An unforgettable experience to share with your family or friends.
Abseiling is also available at Sandford Quarry as a separate activity. Choose from a small abseil or Mendip's epic 150 foot abseil with views over the Bristol Channel to Wales! Mendip Activity Centre's main site is nearby with a cafe, campsite and host of other outdoor activities.
