Early May Bank Holiday Events

Spring has sprung in Bristol and summer is drawing nearer as we celebrate the first May Bank Holiday.

There are plenty of events taking place over the long weekend, with highlights including the start of Bristol Walk Fest and North Somerset Walk Fest, and a series of music, dance and storytelling performances as part of the inaugual DIASPORA! festival.

Bristol Folk Festival is also bringing live shows to venues across the city, or you can head to Spike Island for their annual Open Studios event.

Looking for ways to entertain little ones? You can meet Bluey and Bingo at Avon Valley, take a trip on a Bristol Ferry to Beeses or tuck into some fish and chips while sailing aboard The Matthew.

Experience a bit of lively history in The Joust at Berkeley Castle or Civil War Weekend at The Bishop's Palace.

Browse craft and maker stalls at the Arnos Vale May Fair on Sunday 5 May, enjoy some live music and alfresco food at Rack's Bank Holiday BBQ, or bring along your four-legged fried to The Big Bark at Bath and West Showground.
