Jazz in the Barn : UWE Big Band

Join the award-winning UWE Big Band for an evening of jazz and swing favourites from Nina Simone to Duke Ellington.

A 25 strong group of students, alumni, staff, and community members representing the University under the direction of Keith Morgan, the band has won three awards at the National Concert Band festival held at Royal Northern College of Music, and performed with musicians including Louis Dowdeswell and the Ronnie Scott's All Stars.  UWE Big Band is part of UWE Bristol Centre for Music providing all UWE students with free access to music opportunities. Doors and bar open from 6.45pm. Cash and card. We operate a challenge 25 policy, so please bring ID with you. Band starts at 7.30pm. Seating is unreserved. Tickets £15 (concessions £10) available online from Ticketsource or via the Barn website.

Free parking at Winterbourne Academy (High Street BS36 1JL). No parking on Church Lane as this obstructs local traffic and emergency vehicles. Parking at the Barn itself is reserved for people with mobility and accessibility requirements and must be pre-booked - please email  ceara.foley@winterbournebarn.org.uk and advise us if you need a wheelchair-accessible parking space and/or any accessible seating for the performance.

Buses Y1 and Y2 run between Bristol and Yate along Winterbourne High Street half hourly. Bus Y6 runs between Yate and Parkway Station and The Mall via Beacon Lane and the High Street.
