The Beholder's Share - On Love at Coexist Community Kitchen
About
In the collaborative effort between The Crick Crack Club and CoExist Community Kitchen, the concept of 'The Beholder's Share' comes to life, bridging the realms of art, storytelling, and communal experience. The belief that art is incomplete until it is witnessed by another human being is central, emphasizing the significance of the beholder in extracting meaning from the narratives presented.
The inaugural event, set to launch on the spring equinox, is a unique amalgamation of elements - a blend of performance, communal dining, and open conversation. Storytellers Ben Haggarty & Steph Brittain, featuring excerpts from their new show 'Love Rites,' invite attendees to immerse themselves in a forest of grown-up fairytales, epics, and myths. The exploration delves into themes of strange attractions, Eros, madness, romance, intoxication, betrayal, and the eternal question of love.
Taking place around the scrubbed wooden dining table of the CoExist Community Kitchen in Easton, the event promises a joyous experiment. Attendees are encouraged to come alone, bring friends, or even invite strangers, fostering an inclusive environment where diverse perspectives converge. The act of sharing food, ideas, and emotions adds an extra layer to the experience, creating a space for genuine face-to-face discussions about the varied interpretations of the stories presented.
In essence, 'The Beholder's Share' is not just an event; it's a celebration of the symbiotic relationship between art and audience, where stories come to life through shared experiences, communal meals, and the rich tapestry of human connection.
