Bristol's Christmas Market (8 November – 23 December)

Follow the smell of churros and bratwurst to Bristol Shopping Quarter where you’ll find festive stalls selling everything from sweet treats to Christmas crafts, plus entertainment from Santa and his reindeer (and a singing moose!) in December. Shopped-out visitors can warm up in the Jäger Barn Bar with mulled drinks, live music and even a spot of curling.

Makers Market - Christmas Pop-Up Shop (11 November – 21 December)

Discover jewellery, homeware, pet accessories, stationery, cards, artwork and more under the covered market at St Nicholas Market in the Old City. Open every day between 9.30am – 5pm, all 20 of the independent businesses in the Makers Market are run by budding local entrepreneurs supported by The Prince’s Trust Enterprise programme.

Christmas at St Nicholas Markets (17 November – 31 December)

There’s much more good ol’ fashioned Christmas cheer to be had at St Nick’s. The permanent indoor buildings and outdoor stalls of the market have been around for a whopping 276 years and are home to the largest collection of independent retailers in the city. It’s a perfect spot for gift ideas and delicious seasonal food.

For homemade and organic festive goodies, pop down to the themed outdoor markets, running alongside the daily Christmas stalls from 11 December until Christmas:

  • Monday: Vegan and Wellbeing Market (11am-2.30pm)
  • Tuesday: Street Food Market (11am-2.30pm)
  • Wednesday: Bristol’s Farmer and Producers Market (9:30am-2.30pm)

The Harbourside Christmas Market (Weekends from 23 November to 22 December)

Prepare to get your merry on by visiting the twinkly 50-stall market along Cascade Steps and the Harbourside's covered walkway over five festive weekends. Pick out Christmas gifts infused with plenty of Bristol spirit, from prize-winning preserves to artisan gins, illustrations and hand-made ceramics.

Take your taste buds for a spin at the new street food square outside Bristol Hippodrome, where you'll find lip-smackingly yummy world food served up with seasonal ingredients from the South West. Wash it all down with an organic mulled wine, spiced Somerset cider, or a boozy hot chocolate as you toe-tap along to live music.

Made in Bristol Gift Fair at Colston Hall (Weekends from 23 November to 8 December)

Made in Bristol's Gift Fair returns to the glittering foyer at Colston Hall, showcasing talented makers across three weekends in partnership with Let’s Make Art, Fair Saturday and Small Business Saturday. From super stocking fillers to grander gifts for a special someone, you'll find an eclectic range of locally made artisan products including jewellery, toys, ceramics, prints and home accessories.

Bristol Local Christmas Market (29 November – 23 December)

Running alongside Bristol's Christmas Market in the heart of Bristol Shopping Quarter, Bristol's Local Christmas Market will have a mix of local artists and makers, selling unique handmade gifts and locally sourced yuletide food and drink. It’s the perfect place to stock up on Christmassy table treats such as scrumptious West Country cider, cheese and chestnuts.

St Peter's Hospice Christmas Market (30 November)

St Peter’s Hospice 39th annual Christmas Market takes place at the historic Ashton Court Estate. No less than 50 stalls from Bristol makers, bakers and creators will be luring hungry, festive market-goers with cakes, jams, mulled wine, hand-crafted gifts and lots more. Crafting workshops will give you and your little ones a chance to do some gift-making of your own.

Christmas Craft Fair at the American Museum and Gardens (30 November)

Wrap up your gift shopping while soaking up the festive atmosphere at this Christmas craft fair. Discover one-of-a-kind artisanal presents including ceramics, textiles, jewellery and prints. Make sure you leave enough time to peruse the only museum of American decorative and folk art outside the United States after you’ve snapped up your pressies.

Etsy Made Local Bristol at City Hall (30 November – 1 December)

Handpicked for their creative talents, meet local artists, crafters, makers and sellers at City Hall for one weekend only. Heaps of handmade ceramics, ethical cosmetics, illustrations, jewellery, homewares and much more will be on display and traders will also be running festive and craft workshops.

Christmas Market at Arnos Vale (1 December)  

Take the whole family to Arnos Vale Christmas Market – a beautiful Victorian garden cemetery with extensive, fascinating grounds. Browse local crafts and produce from small batch spirit-makers, sausage geniuses, cheese toastie masters, jewellery whizzes and many more.

Christmas Market at Tobacco Factory (Every Sunday from 1 December to 22 December)

Pick up handmade gifts and yummy treats from over 50 food and craft stalls, featuring a carefully hand-picked selection of produce that has been prepared, harvested, cooked and made in the local area. Pick your Christmas tree, stock up on mistletoe, shop for your favourites and tuck into mulled drinks as Bristol choirs serenade you with carols.

Christmas Fair at HERE (1 December)

Take the kids along to enjoy the traders, stalls and activities at this family-friendly Christmas fair. There’ll be festive refreshments to keep your energy levels up as you shop from the local vendors and fun things to do for all ages.

Bristol Bazaar Christmas Pop-up Shop at The Island (1 – 24 December)

Search for crafts and curios to dazzle loved ones at the pop-up shop in this atmospheric, former police station. From fine art to spicy pickles, everything here is curated entirely from Bristol-based artists, designers and makers renowned for their creativity and sustainable ethos. Get yourself to the opening party on 3 December for free punch, live music, DJs and mince pies.

Gloucester Road Central Christmas Street Party (5 December)

Gloucester Road shops and businesses join together to put on a late afternoon/early evening free community event. There'll be live music from a brass band and local choir, tasty samples of Christmas goodies, creative activities, mulled wine, vegan soup & more

St Werburghs Centre Christmas Market (6 December)

There's oodles of yuletide joy to be found at St Werburghs Community Centre – Christmas stalls, live music, face painting as well as food and drink. Go one, go all!

Framework Christmas Market at 35 King Street (7 December)

Local creators, designers and growers will be gathering at Framework once again this December. Pick out sure-to-be-loved presents and treat yourself to a mince pie or two as you tick off the Christmas shopping list.

Bristol Viva! Vegan Festival (7 December)
