Bristol's Christmas Market (9 November - 23 December)

Follow the smell of churros and bratwurst to Bristol Shopping Quarter where you’ll find festive stalls selling everything from sweet treats to Christmas crafts, plus entertainment from Santa and his reindeer (and a singing moose!) in December. Shopped-out visitors can warm up in the Jäger Barn Bar with warming mulled drinks, live music and a spot of curling!

Bishopston Christmas Market (17 November)

Bishop Road Primary School’s popular Christmas Market, just off Gloucester Road, is back for another year, with local, artisan makers and producers, gifts for all the family, food and drink, jewellery, accessories, art and lots more!

Winter Fair and Ice rink in Millennium Square (17 November - 6 January)

Get the yuletide season off to a magical start with a twirl and a whirl on the We The Curious ice rink in Millennium Square. After mastering the skills of Torvill and Dean, make your way to the Winter Fair to snuggle under a blanket with a mulled treat in the Apres Bar. Top the day off with wintry sky views over the Harbourside on the Big Wheel.

Christmas at St Nick's Market (18 November - 24 December)

A trip to St Nicholas Markets in the Old City is sure to fill you with good ol' fashioned Christmas cheer. The permanent indoor buildings and outdoor stalls of the market have been around for a whopping 275 years (which it will be celebrating on 8 December) and are home to the largest collection of independent retailers in the city - making it a perfect spot for gift ideas and delicious seasonal food.

Don’t miss St Nick’s Festive Night Market (5-10pm on 7 December) - a festive extravaganza of sublime street food, mulled cider, a stunning light show, carols, live music, DJ’s, late night shopping, dancing and more! The exact opposite of Bah Humbug.

Wrap up your gift shopping while soaking up the festive atmosphere at this cosy Christmas craft fair. Bristol Etsy Team x Bristol Girl Bosses: Winter Pop-up Shop (17 -23 November)

The Bristol Etsy Team and Bristol Girl Bosses (an Instagram collective of eight female designer/makers) have teamed up this Christmas season. The result? An exciting pop-up shop in The Galleries Shopping Centre. Follow their Facebook page for upcoming announcements and further details.

St Peter’s Hospice Christmas Market (24 November)

St Peter’s Hospice 38th annual Christmas Market takes place at Bristol City Hall, College Green. Over 40 stalls will be luring hungry, festive market-goers with a Market Cafe, cakes, jams, Pieminster pies, mulled wine, hand-crafted gifts and lots more from Bristol makers, bakers and creators! Keep your peepers peeled for their famous life-size Knitivity scene, which will also be on display.

Explore the mighty hill of Park Street to find a variety of independent shops, before stopping in at the Festive Flea Market for vintage clothing, cosmetics, bric-a-brac, books, records and a few of The Folk House Cafe's mince pies!

The Greenbank Pub Christmas Market (26 November & 10 December)

If you go giddy for a mulled drink or two, pop along to The Greenbank Pub in Easton and make your way upstairs for the chance to swig some mulled cider and purchase some joyous, locally-made goodies that will make fabulous Christmas gifts. Makers will be selling everything from handcrafted, one-off pieces of jewellery to natural beauty products and unique T-shirts. There will be music and the bar will be open downstairs for those who want to up the Christmas merriment factor.

Harbourside Christmas Market (weekends only from 24 November - 16 December)

Prepare to get your merry on by visiting the twinkly 50-stall Maker’s Market along Cascade Steps and the Harbourside's covered walkway over four festive weekends. Pick out Christmas gifts infused with plenty of Bristol spirit, from prize-winning preserves to artisan gins, illustrations and hand-made ceramics. Take your taste buds for a spin at the new street food square outside Bristol Hippodrome, where you'll find lip-smackingly yummy world food served up with seasonal ingredients from the South West. Wash it all down with an organic mulled wine, spiced Somerset cider, or a boozy hot chocolate as you toe-tap along to live music.

Bristol Local Christmas Market (30 November - 23 December)

Running alongside Bristol's Christmas Market in the heart of Bristol Shopping Quarter, Bristol's Local Christmas Market will be showcasing a mix of local artists and makers, selling everything from unique handmade gifts to locally-sourced yuletide food and drink. It’s the perfect place to pick up some Christmassy table treats such as scrumptious West Country cider, cheese and chestnuts.

Bristol Bazaar Pop-Up Christmas Shop at The Island (1-24 December)

Stop and search for craft and curios to dazzle loved ones at a pop-up shop based in this atmospheric former police station. From woolly hats to temporary tats, glittery jumpsuits to underpants and gin, everything here is curated entirely with Bristol-based artists, designers and makers. Look out for the Meet the Makers party (from 6pm on 4 December) for even more festiveness. 

Festive Bonanza on Gloucester Road (1 December)

Jingle all the way to Gloucester Road, on Europe’s longest stretch of independent shops for an all-day Christmas Festive Bonanza. Seasonal jollities will include a wreath making workshop, carols from choirs, an Elf on a Shelf trail, letterboxes to Santa and festive food stalls. There will also be the chance to snap up one-off discounts and giveaways by local traders to help you tick off your Christmas gift list.

Etsy Made Local Bristol 2018 at City Hall (1 - 2 December)

Returning bigger and better than ever before, the Etsy Made Local Bristol team are running the market for two days in a new venue - City Hall, on College Green. Pick out your stocking fillers and unique gifts from talented local makers. Once you’ve shopped ‘til you’re about to drop, swing by the pop-up festive cafe for some classic Christmas tunes and drop-in workshops.

A Very Fairy Christmas at Blaise Community Garden (2 December)

The fairies are coming to the community garden to celebrate the start of the Christmas season. Visit the magical market with its wonderful range of local, homemade gifts before thawing out chilled bones in the cafe.

Makers Market Balloon Bar (2 December)

On the first Sunday of every month, the University of Bristol Student's Union welcomes Bristol’s best artists and their pop-up shops into the Balloon Bar to showcase and celebrate local talent. On 2 December, there will be a special Christmas-themed Makers Market, where you can fill your stockings with bespoke gifts, homewares, fashion, art and accessories for all your friends and family.

Arnos Vale Christmas Market (2 Dec)

Take the whole family to Arnos Vale Christmas Market – a beautiful Victorian garden cemetery with extensive, fascinating grounds. Browse local crafts and produce from small batch spirit-makers, sausage geniuses, cheese toastie masters, jewellery whizzes and many more!

Tobacco Factory Christmas Market (2, 9, 16 & 23 December)

Pick up handmade gifts and yummy treats from over 50 food and craft stalls, featuring a carefully hand-picked selection of produce that has been prepared, harvested, cooked and made in the local area. Pick your Christmas Tree, stock up on mistletoe, shop for your favourites and tuck into mulled drinks as Bristol choirs serenade you with carols.

St Werburghs Christmas Market (7 December)

There’s oodles of yuletide joy to be found at St Werburghs Community Centre - Christmas stalls, live music, face painting as well as food and drink. Go one, go all!

Royal York Crescent Christmas Fayre (8 December)

Don't miss the Christmas Fayre on picturesque Royal York Crescent in Clifton Village. There’ll be carols, stalls selling festive treats, mulled cider, a BBQ and children’s activities, all set against a backdrop of Georgian Regency architecture and breathtaking views over the city. Afterwards, seek out more presents with a stroll through Clifton Village’s Victorian arcade and boutique shops – a charming place to wander at any time of year, but particularly magical after the ‘Christmas Light Switch On’ (7 November), when the streets are set aglow with fairy lights and miniature Christmas trees decorate shop fronts.

Christmas Market at Ashton Court (9 December)

For a marvellously merry day out, head over to The Courtyard Stable Café in the grounds of Ashton Court. The Café will be hosting a small Christmas Market where you can get your hands on a range of Christmas gifts including jewellery, art, ceramics, stained glass, wreaths, wood products and Christmas trees! Take a stroll in the grounds (the Estate is one of our top picks for a wintry walk in Bristol) before returning to the market for some warming mince pies and mulled wine.

Festive Feast at Finzels (13-14 December)

Friday lunchtimes’ Finzels Reach Market will be temporarily moving to the Old Fire Station for a two-day street food extravaganza! Alongside some of the tastiest street food purveyors from the West Country, the event will also be lulling people into a festive mood with live music, local beer, cider and hot mulled wine.
