Autumn in Bristol

The leaves may be falling and the days drawing in, but there’s still lots to look forward to in Bristol during autumn.  

With plenty of frights in store at the city’s top attractions, and the surrounding area home to one of the UK’s most popular scare season events, Bristol knows how to celebrate Halloween in style. Pick your own pumpkin, don your fancy dress and enter a scare maze if you dare!

The fun doesn’t end there, with a range of half term activities and events at the city’s attractions, as well as a series of spectacular firework displays across the city marking Bonfire Night.

Make the most of this beautiful time of year with a stroll around one of Bristol's parks or gardens, or visit one of our outdoor attractions. Bristol is surrounded by stunning countryside, from the South Cotswolds to the rolling Mendip Hills and Coastal North Somerset, so you're never short of options for a pretty walk - make sure to stop into a local town or village for some lunch too!

Halloween in Bristol 

See the spooky side of Bristol with Halloween-themed events at the city and surrounding area’s top attractions, such as Brunel’s SS Great Britain, Wookey Hole, and Mendip Activity Centre. There’s also ample opportunity to pick a gourd-geous pumpkin to carve at one of Bristol’s many pumpkin patches, or join a chilling ghost tour around the city.  

Are you brave enough to experience one of the UK’s most hair-raising Halloween events? Find out by heading to FEAR at Avon Valley Scream Park just outside Bristol, where you’ll experience a range of scare mazes and immersive horror performances with live actors. You can also expect fire shows, thrilling funfair rides, and more!  

October half-term in Bristol 

Throughout October half-term, families can enjoy the crunch of fallen leaves underfoot and stunning autumn colour on one of the many nature trails outside the city centre in the beautiful surroundings of Tyntesfield, Dyrham Park and Westonbirt Arboretum.
